Smart speakers have become a standard equipment in many households, but there are significant differences in the performance of AI assistants from different brands in voice recognition, intelligent Q&A, and home control. This article conducted horizontal testing on five mainstream smart speakers on the market, evaluating their AI capabilities from multiple dimensions.

##Testing method

This review selected five products: Xiao Ai Speaker Pro, Xiao Du Smart Screen X10, Huawei Sound X, Tmall Genie CC, and Apple HomePod mini. The testing dimensions include speech recognition accuracy, multi round dialogue ability, intelligent Q&A quality, home control convenience, and sound quality experience.

##Speech recognition: Huawei and Apple lead the way

In a quiet environment, the speech recognition accuracy of all five products exceeds 95%, with little difference. But in noisy environments (simulating the background sound of kitchen range hoods), Huawei Sound X and HomePod mini perform significantly better, thanks to their more advanced noise reduction algorithms and microphone array design. The Xiaodu smart screen also performs well in far-field wake-up.

##Intelligent Q&A: Xiaodu has abundant content reserves

In the knowledge Q&A test, Xiaodu Smart Screen, with Baidu's search ecosystem and AI big model support, has the highest accuracy and information richness in answering. Huawei Sound X performs outstandingly on technology related issues, while Tmall Genie has good answer quality on common sense questions in daily life. Although Siri has made significant improvements in HomePod mini, there is still a gap in Chinese knowledge and localized content.

##Home control: Xiao Ai has obvious advantages

As the core entry point of Xiaomi's ecosystem, Xiaoai Speaker Pro has a natural advantage in smart home control. It can seamlessly control hundreds of devices in the Xiaomi ecosystem, with flexible scene linkage settings. Huawei Sound X also performs well in the HarmonyOS ecosystem of devices, but its overall device variety is not as diverse as Xiaomi's.

##Multiple rounds of dialogue and continuity

The most challenging aspect of AI capability is multiple rounds of dialogue. In the test, Xiaodu and Xiaoai had the best contextual retention ability in continuous conversations, able to understand natural expressions that require contextual understanding such as "dim the light a bit" and "I'm not saying this". HomePod mini performs well in English scenarios, but there is still room for improvement in Chinese multi round conversations.

##Comprehensive recommendation

For Xiaomi ecosystem users, Xiaoai Speaker Pro is the best choice; For users who pursue comprehensive content quality, a small smart screen is worth considering; If you are a user of Huawei phones and HarmonyOS devices, Huawei Sound X is a good choice. HomePod mini is more suitable for deep users in the Apple ecosystem, especially with significant advantages in music quality.
