Huawei Cloud held its 'Xingyao Creators' contest in Shanghai, with results published on 8 October 2026. The event ran nine tracks for enterprise developers, university students, independent developers, robotics-ecosystem partners and teenage makers; an awards ceremony on 19 September named 27 honours and 102 winning developers, attended by Huawei board member and Huawei Cloud CEO Zhou Yuefeng. The more substantive part is what Huawei Cloud opened to participants: five platforms covering AI coding and HarmonyOS app development (CodeArts), enterprise agent building (AgentArts), office AI (OfficeAce), openJiuwen, and CloudRobo, an embodied-AI development platform that spans data production, evaluation, model training, simulation and deployment. Huawei Cloud said it will connect strong teams and projects to its developer ecosystem and industry partners for scenario validation and commercial cooperation.

Our take

A developer contest looks minor; the platform list does not. CloudRobo spanning data, training, simulation and deployment in one stack is a quiet claim to be the picks-and-shovels layer for embodied AI, not another model vendor. The real test is whether it ships beyond contests — China's robot startups will show if this is a product or a poster.
